SUDIC Course
(Simulation training to Understand the paediatrician’s Duties, Investigation and Care of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy and Childhood)
This is a one day course for senior paediatric trainees (ST4-8) and Consultants. However, if there is space available, then places can be allocated to junior trainees (ST3). The aim of this SUDIC course is to give practical experience and training about management of SUDI/C through high fidelity simulation and experiential learning.
The SUDIC SIM Course offers:

A full day of immersive, high fidelity simulation of a SUDIC case

Highly interactive small group, experiential learning

Opportunity to practice and manage the key processes involved in SUDIC investigation:

Unsuccessful resuscitation

Difficult communication with acutely bereaved parents and professionals

Post mortem examination and investigations

Interagency history taking, home visit and professionals meetings
