(Simulation training to Understand the paediatrician’s Duties, Investigation and Care of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy and Childhood)

This is a one day course for senior paediatric trainees (ST4-8) and Consultants. However, if there is space available, then places can be allocated to junior trainees (ST3).​ The aim of this SUDIC course is to give practical experience and training about management of SUDI/C through high fidelity simulation and experiential learning.

The SUDIC SIM Course offers:

A full day of immersive, high fidelity simulation of a SUDIC case

Highly interactive small group, experiential learning

Opportunity to practice and manage the key processes involved in SUDIC investigation:​

Unsuccessful resuscitation

Difficult communication with acutely bereaved parents and professionals

Post mortem examination and investigations

Interagency history taking, home visit and professionals meetings

Report writing
