Simulation Training to Enhance Performance at ST4+ (STEPS)

The STEPS simulation course was set up to help with some of the anxiety that we all feel before stepping up to the middle grade role.

STEPS is a regional half-day course (held on the SIM ward at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton), which uses simulation scenarios in a high fidelity setting, and is a fantastic opportunity to practice some of the essential technical and non-technical skills required by new Paediatric Registrars.

Feedback from trainees who have attended STEPS previously indicates that they have found the course really helpful, especially in terms of increasing confidence and practicing leadership, team management and other skills in a safe environment before taking up their middle grade rotation.

And - it's completely free for West Midlands paediatric trainees!

Places are limited and very popular; keep an eye on Eventbrite for upcoming dates. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the Paediatric Sim Fellow.
