ST1 Neonatal Clinical Skills Day

This is a practical neonatal clinical skills day for all ST1 trainees in the West Midlands Deanery undertaking their neonatal placement, and takes place during regional teaching. 

​​

​

It covers common neonatal procedures which you will come across during your training in a simulated, safe and friendly environment. 

​​

• ​Airway management and intubation 

• Central Access - UVC/UAC & CVL

• Management of pneumothorax - needle thoracocentesis & chest drain 

• Stabilisation of the extreme preterm infant

Feedback from trainees has been excellent, describing it as "very helpful and informative, loved it" trainees stating they "feel a lot more confident now".
