Ward Round Assessment of Performance
This assessment tool will provide valuable multi-source feedback on your performance when leading ward rounds. This tool has been drawn up following a survey of views from trainees and trainers. Piloting has shown it is a useful tool to help training towards consultant level.
You can use the WRAP tool to demonstrate competence supporting the Progress Curriculum. It is up to you!
How to......
1 - Print out several WRAP forms and complete your name and training grade.
2 - Inform the 'Ward Round Team' of the intention to complete the assessment prior to the ward round commencing.
3 - Complete the ward round; aim to review a number of patients yourself leading the team in what ever way you deem suitable.
4 - Distribute the forms to all members of the team and arrange for them to be returned to your Educational Supervisor.
5 - Aim to receive feedback from one Consultant, one member of the nursing team, and one other ward round member as a minimum.
6 - The responses should be compiled by your Educational Supervisor and feedback can be discussed during your next Supervision Meeting.
